I went through Pennsylvania on a family vacation several years ago. several years ago!! I couldn't have been more than 12 or 13 at the time and while I found it fascinating then to visit all the historical sites, I know I would appreciate it much more now that I am older. When I was given the opportunity to write about the Roadtrip-a-Matic available for people visiting Pennsylvania, I was excited to explore the site and see all the different packages/roadtrips they had to offer.
What, exactly, is this "Roadtrip-a-Matic"?? Well, its this really neat kit that you can get where (in their own words) "We did the planning. You do the packing. Pick your roadtrip and go." And it really is that simple! With different roadtrips suited to different types of trips, the possible roadtrips you can take in PA is endless!! From the Trail Mix roadtrip where you hike along some of the most historical trails to the Taste Buds on Tour roadtrip where your trip is set out to taste and experience the best in PA beer, wine, and food.
If I was going to Pennsylvania and had to pick one of the pa-roadtrips available, I would have to say that I'd pick the Civil War Trails and Beyond roadtrip to take. Being a lover of history (and especially the 1800s and War Between the States) I would probably feel like I'd 'died and gone to heaven' if I was able to take this four day trip that visits some of the most historical towns, museums, and battle sites in PA!
Any of my readers out there planning a roadtrip to Pennsylvania? And even if you’re not, you can still explore the Roadtrip-a-Matic site and check out all the different roadtrip packages they offer. It's fun to see how each trip is focused on a particular thing (hiking, food, history)!! What a fun way to categorize your vacation!
So, check out pa-roadtrips and share in the comments below which package you would pick, if you were planning a vacation to Pennsylvania! :-)

THis is so cool! I actually live in PA, but there is so much left to discover. I really like the small town one. Thanks for sharing. Megan
Sounds awesome, Ms. McCurdy!! If I were going to PA, I think tha I would have to choose the Civil War Trails & Beyond package, too. I love history and I especially love the Civil war era. It is my favorite time period, I think. That and the l World War II era, anyway.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Megan - Really? Cool! Yeah, PA seems like an amazing place to tour. especially historical-wise!
4readin - Yeah, isn't that such an awesome-looking package?? Yep, history is so much fun to learn about -- especially during the War Between the States! :-D
Very cool that you also like reading about WWI and WWII. Have you read Sarah Sundin's Wings of Refuge series yet? If not, I highly recommend them to you! Lots of history there!
