Another adventure in Peppin that leaves the groom standing at the alter! (Book Review)

Busy days are fast approaching for me! I will be going back to school, starting tomorrow in fact. I'm going back to get certified in Cosmetology. :-) I've been looking forward to it all year, and am eager to begin my first class tomorrow. But with the reality of school looming, I also have to acknowledge that my time on the computer will become rather sporadic.

I won't totally disappear! No worries there. And I've planned out my next few months already so, hopefully, I can still keep up. I just pray for your patience with me as I get accustomed to going to school in the afternoon and rearranging my personal schedules. I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store for me in the Cosmetology department!! :-)

My Review...

Having read the first book in this series, Unlawfully Wedded Bride, I was eager to re-visit the characters in this new installment, The Runaway Bride. What fun to discover that the two youngsters from book one have grown up. Sean is now an adult—and the sheriff of Peppin, ta boot!

I liked Sean from the previous book, so when I saw that he was the main character in The Runaway Bride, my interest was instantly roused. His friendship with Lorelei’s spurned fiancĂ© forced him into a very delicate situation when the “forced courtship” was proposed, and I liked seeing how concerned he was for his friend. Lorelei was a one-of-a-kind girl! But I found her character likeable—aren’t we all at fault of not following through, in some way or another?? And seeing her realize her mistakes and endeavor to change her ways…it made for a good lesson!

The fun-if-somewhat-forced romance between Lorelei and Sean was amusing, and the mystery they solved together was intriguing and fun. There were several things I didn’t see coming and that surprised and delighted me. And since the synopsis happens in the first few chapters, The Runaway Bride will doubtless surprise you, too!

I had a hard time completely accepting/believing all the reasons for their forced courtship, but it was fun! And the ending I couldn't help but sighing in satisfactions. Now I can look forward with anticipation to Ellie’s story in the next book—and since she is such a fiery-tempered and lively girl…it will doubtless be fun!

I reviewed this book for the author. It was not required that I give a positive review, but solely to express my own thoughts and opinions of this book, which I have done.

Cosmotalogy school? What are you planning to do?

I totally understand the problem of finding blogging time. Don't worry; I'll still be a faithful reader. :D

Brooke - Thanks! It will be an adventure, that's for sure, as I try to get used to going to school again. It's been 2 years!! :-o

4readin - Thanks a bunch, girl! I'm hoping it goes well, too ;-)

Right now I'm just going to get certified in Cosmetology (a 1 year course), but I think I might focus on nails later on. I love painting my nails and doing different designs on them.. :-)

Aww, thanks a ton, girl! I always love reading your comments!!
